Shares of Weight Watchers International, Inc. WTW surged on Tuesday after the company's minority-owner, Oprah Winfrey, was featured in a new advertisement.
"This is the joy for me," Winfrey said in her Weight Watchers commercial, which was released before the market open. "I love bread... I... love... bread. I now just manage it so I don't deny myself bread every day. I have bread every day."
"That's the genius of this [Weight Watchers] program," she continued. "I lost 26 pounds and I have eaten bread every single day."
