American Express Company AXP fell 5.24 percent to $59.36 in pre-market trading. American Express reported upbeat earnings for its fourth quarter. Chairman and CEO Kenneth I. Chenault indicated he plans to cut at least $1 billion from the company's cost base by "moving aggressively to streamline the company and drive efficiencies."

Signature Bank SBNY shares fell 1.03 percent to $137.66 in the pre-market trading. Signature Bank priced its 2.2 million share offering at $136 per share.

General Electric Company GE fell 1.01 percent to $28.30 in the pre-market trading session. General Electric reported upbeat earnings for its fourth quarter. However, industrial profit declined 8 percent in the quarter.
