Xenoport Inc XNPT is said to be in the early stages of exploring a potential sale, according to sources as reported by Reuters on Thursday. The sources say Xenoport is working with an investment bank on the potential sale and has contacted potential buyers. Xenoport has not immediately responded to a request for comment. Xenoport closed at $17.50 up 29.73%. IBM Confirms Purchase of Ustream The Deal:
IBM IBM announced Thursday, it has acquired cloud-based live video streaming service provider Ustream. Financial terms were not disclosed. IBM closed at $123.01 on Thursday, up 0.94%. Foxconn Offers ~$5.3B to Acquire Sharp The Rumor:
Foxconn HNHPF has offered $5.3 billion to Japan's Sharp Corp. SHCAY, according to sources as reported by the Wall Street Journal late Wednesday. Sharp has received bailouts from Japanese banks and has a ¥510 billion loan due to be repaid in March. Foxconn and Sharp declined comment. Sharp's US ADR closed up 13% Thursday, at $1.13.
