Ecuador Is 'Tired' Of 'Pusing' OPEC To Slash Production

Ecuador is the smallest member of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and appears to be suffering financially due to the low price of oil.

According to Reuters, Ecuador's President Rafael Correa said on Wednesday that his government is "tired" of "pushing" OPEC to decrease its output.

"With a small cut in production, the price could rise a lot," Correa told reporters. "Why don't they do it? I'm tired of insisting."

Reuters added that Ecuador's requests as "gone unheeded" by OPEC's larger members. In the meantime, low oil prices is "painful" for all producer nations, particularly poorer OPEC members like Ecuador and Venezuela.
