Worst Performing Industries For January 7, 2016

The Dow fell 1.18 percent to 16,707.13, while the NASDAQ composite index slipped 1.62 percent to 4,757.30. The broader Standard & Poor's 500 index dropped 0.96 percent to 1,971.19. The worst performing industries in the market today are: Photographic Equipment & Supplies: This industry declined 4.7 percent by 11:00 am with GoPro Inc GPRO moving down 5.2 percent. Jim Cramer said on CNBC's Mad Money that he is not interested in speculating on GoPro, because there are much better stocks with high yields and great balance sheets. Semiconductor - Specialized: The industry dropped 3.5 percent by 11:00 am. The worst performer in this industry was Canadian Solar Inc. CSIQ, which declined 9.2 percent. Canadian Solar shares have surged 19.13 percent over the past 52 weeks, while the S&P 500 index has declined 3.49 percent in the same period. Foreign Utilities: This industry slipped 3.4 percent by 11:00 am. The worst stock within the industry was CPFL Energia S.A. (ADR) CPL, which fell 3.4 percent. CPFL Energia's PEG ratio is -6.84. Diversified Computer Systems: This industry fell 3.3 percent by 11:00 am ET. Diebold Inc DBD shares dropped 4.8 percent in today's trading.
