Talk Of McDonald's Mac And Cheese Testing Circulating Street

McDonald's Corporation MCD is now in the process of testing a macaroni and cheese dish served as an alternative to french fries at select Ohio locations, CNN Money recently reported.

The item is on sale for an additional $1.75 for a limited time; the duration of the sale has not been announced yet.

According to Eater, a McDonald's employee stated that the product is delivered to McDonald's locations frozen and has 190 calories, about the same as a four-piece McNugget.

McDonald's stock is among the top-performing restaurant names in the Dow Jones Industrial Average in 2015. The fast food giant has performed well for investors year-to-date, rising 26.54 percent this year.

Sentiment surrounding McDonald's stock turned positive earlier this fall, following CEO Steve Easterbrook's decision to make the company's highly-profitable breakfast menu available all day. Breakfast accounts for nearly 25 percent of the Golden Arches' U.S. sales.

Easterbrook has also made efforts to streamline McDonald's menu by improving its hamburger quality, chicken sandwiches and other food items.

McDonald's last beat Wall Street's earnings and revenue estimates by about 10 percent in its fiscal third quarter.
