Forbes: Apple's 'Big Problem' With Its Watch 'Must Be Fixed'

Apple Inc. AAPL faces a "big problem" with its Watch that the "must be fixed," according to Forbes. Forbes' Ewan Spence argued that smartphones have a "short turnaround" due to mobile contracts that typically offer consumers a new device every one to two years. People are "happy" to replace their phones at such a frequency - but what about replacing their Apple Watch? Spence continued that the Apple Watch is "pitched as a luxury timepiece and marketed as such." Meanwhile, the company may announce an "Apple Watch 2" as soon as March 2016. "The biggest issue around the Apple Watch is less about the software and more around the hardware," Spence wrote. "Specifically, what happens when new hardware is released? " Spence suggested that Apple should offer an "Apple Watch Upgrade Program" that allows a Watch owner to trade in their old device and purchase the new model. This would offer Apple's hard-core consumer a guarantee they would "never be left behind" with old, out-dated devices.
