Facebook Inc FB's Oculus Rift business announced on a blog post on Tuesday that is now shipping "early builds" of its Rift VR headset to develops. The company also said that it is also shipping a developer kit, SDK 1.0 and runtime which include features that are tied to the consumer product.
Oculus added that it is shipping more Rift hardware to developers each week ahead of a consumer launch which is expected before April 2016.
However, Engadget noted that Oculus has already delivered engineering samples to "privileged developers." This may explain why Facebook's stock was relatively quiet during Tuesday's trading session as its shares were higher by just 0.31 percent at $105.09 during Tuesday's early afternoon trading session.
