Sohu.com Inc. SOHU announced Wednesday, that its Board of Directors has received a preliminary, non-binding indicative proposal from Chairman and CEO, Dr. Charles Zhang, for an investment by a special purpose entity to be formed by Dr. Zhang and an unidentified private equity firm. Terms include 1. Shares of common stock with purchase price as of the day before date subscription signed, but not more than $50 per share, 2. Notes convertible into common shares. A special financing committee of the Board will consider the proposal and make recommendations. Sohu.com rose 0.68% Wednesday, closing at $51.50 AstraZeneca to Acquire Respiratory Portfolio from Takeda for $575M The Deal:
Takeda Pharmaceutical Company TKPYY announced Wednesday, that it has agreed to sell its respiratory portfolio to AstraZeneca AZN. AstraZeneca will acquire the respiratory business including products Daxas, Alvesco and Omnaris. The deal is expected to close during Q1 of 2016. AstraZeneca rose 1.59% Wednesday, closing at $33.79. Blackstone Invests $170M for Minority Stake in IBS Software The Deal:
IBS Software announced Wednesday, that it will receive $170 million private equity investment from funds managed by Blackstone BX in exchange for a minority shareholding. Blackstone is buying out General Atlantic and other shareholders. The deal is expected to close within a month. Blackstone closed at $29.80, up 2.9%.
