In a report issued by CNBC, MindMover, and Lightspeed GMI, 500 business executives were surveyed with more than half of US respondents saying that cybersecurity is a leading technology priority. Interestingly, respondents in Europe and Asia don't place as high a priority on cybersecurity with only 41 percent and 25 percent saying that cybersecurity is a major technological issue.

According to Techwire, hundreds of cybersecurity startups have attracted nearly $5 billion in investments to meet the US demand. The threat of attacks is a real issue and many businesses are unequipped to handle the issue with over 300,000 cybersecurity jobs being unfilled in the United States.

Many firms are poised to capitalize on this demand of cybersecurity protection. These include Palo Alto Networks Inc. PANW, Cyberark Software Ltd. CYBR, and FireEye Inc. FEYE. While there is increased competition from the proliferation of new firms, the aforementioned companies are well established with a network of clients that seem poised to grow in the future.

Palo Alto Networks closed Monday at $187.34.
Cyberark Software closed Monday at $43.29.
FireEye closed Monday at $22.88.
