On Monday Samantha Bomkamp of the Chicago Tribune wrote that Dunkin Donuts of the Dunkin Brands Group Inc. DNKN has begun an online delivery service in the Chicago metro area.
Dunkin Donuts’ recent entry into the delivery business follows the lead of many of its competitors including Burger King of Restaurant Brands International Inc. QSR who also uses the online service DoorDash. According to DoorDash, Dunkin Donuts will deliver a limited selection of coffee, donuts, and breakfast sandwiches to a customer’s door in a suggested time of 45 minutes.
The chain is expected to rollout similar programs in Atlanta, Los Angeles, and Washington D.C. in the coming weeks. And for those not lucky enough to live in those locations, Scott Hudler, the brand’s VP of global consumer engagement, said that the company “will continue to evaluate a possible national rollout…in the future.”
Dunkin Brands Group closed Monday at $42.42, up 0.43 percent.
Restaurant Brands International closed Monday at $36.59, down 0.92 percent.
