Shares of Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan Inc. POT rose Monday on renewed unconfirmed market chatter of a potential bid from BHP Billiton BHP. Sources say a deal could be valued at $21 billion. Spokespersons for Potash and BHP Billiton were not available for comment. Potash shares rose $0.40 Monday, closing at $20.84. Canadian Pacific Said to be in Talks to Acquire Norfolk Southern The Rumor:
Canadian Pacific Railway Ltd. CP is said to be exploring a takeover of Norfolk Southern Corp. NSC, according to sources as reported by Bloomberg on Monday. The two railway companies have reportedly held early stage talks regarding a potential combination. Canadian Pacific and Norfolk Southern declined comment on the rumor.to comment. Norfolk Southern shares rose almost 11% Monday to close at $88.62. RealD to be Acquired by Rizvi Traverse for $11/Share in Cash The Deal:
RealD Inc. RLD and private equity firm Rizvi Traverse Management, LLC, announced Monday, that they have agreed that Rizvi Traverse will acquire RealD for $11.00 per share in cash, with the transaction valued at approximately $551 million. The deal is expected to close in Q4 of FY 2016 or shortly thereafter. RealD rose 2.37% Monday, closing at $10.82.
