US Stock Futures Edge Higher Ahead Of Manufacturing Data

US stock futures traded slightly higher in early pre-market trade. The manufacturing PMI for October will be released at 9:45 a.m. ET, while the ISM manufacturing index for October and construction spending data for September will be released at 10:00 a.m. ET. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average surged 8 points to 17,602.0, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index futures rose 0.75 points to 2,074.50. Futures for the Nasdaq 100 index climbed 3.75 points to 4,647.00.

European markets were mostly higher today, with the Spanish Ibex Index rising 0.40 percent, STOXX Europe 600 Index surging 0.42 percent and German DAX 30 index gaining 0.88 percent. French CAC 40 Index surged 0.48 percent and London's FTSE 100 Index fell 0.35 percent. In Asian markets, Japan's Nikkei Stock Average fell 2.10 percent, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index declined 1.19 percent, China's Shanghai Composite Index dipped 1.70 percent and India's BSE Sensex declined 0.37 percent.

Analysts at Bernstein downgraded

from Outperform to Market Perform and lowered the price target from $65.00 to $59.00. Eaton shares rose 2.96 percent to close at $55.92 on Friday.
