EMC Asked for 'Go-Shop' Provision as Part of Merger Agreement With Dell -Reuters

EMC Corp EMC, has asked that a 'go-shop' provision be included in its acquisition agreement with Dell, according to sources, as reported by Reuters on Sunday. That deal could be announced as early as Monday. IBM Corp IBM, Cisco Systems Inc CSCO and Hewlett-Packard Co HPQ are said to be among the companies that could bid for EMC, though the sources say chances are slim of that happening. Bloomberg reported Friday, that Dell Inc. was offering approximately $33 a share, plus VMWare, Inc. VMW tracking stock, worth aaround $8.00 per share to acquire EMC, according to their source.
