The Dow fell 0.74 percent to 16,159.73, while the NASDAQ composite index declined 0.81 percent to 4,714.17. The broader Standard & Poor's 500 index fell 0.59 percent to 1,927.38. The worst performing industries in the market today are: Farm & Construction Machinery: This industry declined 3.9 percent by 2:00 pm with Caterpillar Inc. CAT moving down 6.3 percent. Cat lowered its FY15 sales outlook from $49 billion to $48 billion and announced its plans to permanently reduce workforce by 4,000 to 5,000 employees. Auto Parts Wholesale: The industry dropped 3.6 percent by 2:00 pm. The worst performer in this industry was Magna International Inc. (USA) MGA, which declined 5.6 percent. Magna International shares have tumbled 11.18 percent over the past 52 weeks, while the S&P 500 index has slipped 2.98 percent in the same period. Cement: This industry tumbled 3.4 percent by 2:00 pm. The worst stock within the industry was Cemex SAB de CV (ADR) CX, which fell 3.9 percent. Cemex's trailing-twelve-month ROE is -2.14 percent. Toys & Games: This industry fell 2.5 percent by 2:00 pm ET. Mattel, Inc. MAT shares dropped 2.6 percent in today's trading. Mattel is expected to release its Q3 financial results on October 15, 2015.
