Monday's After-Hours Movers Led By Vascular Biogenics, Ultragenyx And Red Hat

Shares of Red Hat Inc RHT, which rose 2.32 percent on Monday, were down about 1 percent after hours.

Despite what the market’s response might suggest, the software provider reported Q2 earnings of $0.47 per share, $0.03 above the Street’s consensus estimate and the management’s guidance, on revenue of $504.15 million, also atop estimates and guidance.

Vascular Biogenics Ltd VBLT continued to spike on Monday, gaining more than 18.25 percent, after news came out on Friday that the company will present at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO). After the bell rang on Monday, the stock was up another 13 percent.

Another biopharmaceutical stock surging in Monday’s after-hours was Ultragenyx Pharmaceutical Inc RARE, up more than 7 percent. The upswing seems to have been triggered by no particular news, but rather looks like a correction of the 13.94 percent decline seen during the day.

The Credit Suisse AG - VelocityShares Daily 2x VIX Short Term ETN TVIX, which replicates the returns of twice the daily performance of the S&P 500 VIX Short-Term Futures index, fell roughly 13 percent during the regular session and was down approximately 5.5 percent in after-hours trading, possibly driven by Hillary Clinton’s tweet about drug prices.
