US Stock Futures Down; FOMC Minutes In Focus

US stock futures traded lower in early pre-market trade. The Federal Open Market Committee will issue minutes of its latest meeting at 2:00 p.m. ET.

is expected to post its Q2 earnings today. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average tumbled 146.5 points to 17,533.5, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index futures fell 18.60 points to 2,055.15. Futures for the Nasdaq 100 index declined 40.45 points to 4,381.80.

European markets were higher today, with the Spanish Ibex Index surging 0.27 percent, STOXX Europe 600 Index rising 0.02 percent and German DAX 30 index gaining 0.20 percent. French CAC 40 Index climbed 0.57 percent and London's FTSE 100 Index rose 0.61 percent. In Asian markets, Japan's Nikkei Stock Average fell 3.14 percent, Homg Kong's Hang Seng Index dropped 5.84 percent, China's Shanghai Composite Index slipped 5.90 percent and India's BSE Sensex dipped 1.72 percent.
