The Dow rose 0.54 percent to 17,986.92, while the NASDAQ composite index fell 0.09 percent to 5,107.39. The broader Standard & Poor's 500 index gained 0.15 percent to 2,105.52. The worst performing industries in the market today are: Semiconductor- Memory Chips: This industry declined 10.7 percent by 11:00 am with Micron Technology, Inc. MU moving down 17 percent. Micron Technology reported weaker-than-expected results for its fiscal third quarter on Thursday. Photographic Equipment & Supplies: The industry dropped 2.9 percent by 11:00 am. The worst performer in this industry was GoPro Inc GPRO, which declined 2.9 percent. GoPro's trailing-twelve-month profit margin is 8.79 percent. Nonmetallic Mineral Mining: This industry tumbled 1.8 percent by 11:00 am. The worst stock within the industry was Yanzhou Coal Mining Co Ltd (ADR) YZC, which fell 4.9 percent. Yanzhou Coal Mining shares have surged 13.64 percent over the past 52 weeks, while the S&P 500 index has gained 7.21 percent in the same period. Internet Service Providers: This industry fell 1.8 percent by 11:00 am ET. Smtp Inc SMTP shares dropped 1.2 percent in today's trading. Smtp's trailing-twelve-month EPS is -$0.43
