5-Minute Warning For ADP Employment Report, Economists Expecting ~200K Reading For May

Economists and market players alike are eagerly awaiting for a sneak peak into the jobs report later this week with Wednesday morning's ADP employment report. A measure of the monthly non-farm, private employment directly from Automatic Data Processing is due out at 8:15 a.m. Eastern. The Street is currently expecting a May reading of about 200,000 jobs, up rather sharply from the 169,000 reported during April. Later this week, traders and investors will get a look at one of the few data points that still moves the equities market: the esteemed Employment Report, which furthers the data for non-farm, private sector, government and manufacturing sectors. A look at the unemployment rate is also offered. Economists are currently expecting a nonfarm reading at 225,000, a private sector reading at 220,000, and the unemployment rate to remain unchanged at 5.4 percent.
