US Stock Futures Jump Ahead Of ADP Report

Pre-open movers

US stock futures traded higher in early pre-market trade. The ADP employment report for April will be released at 8:15 a.m. ET, while nonfarm productivity data for the first quarter will be released at 8:30 a.m. ET. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 61.50 points to 17,925.50, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index futures rose 6.45 points to 2,090.45. Futures for the Nasdaq 100 index gained 5.40 points to 4,412.90.

A Peek Into Global Markets

European markets were higher today, with the Spanish Ibex Index rising 0.82 percent, STOXX Europe 600 Index surging 0.25 percent and German DAX 30 index gaining 0.96 percent. French CAC 40 Index climbed 0.66 percent and London's FTSE 100 Index rose 0.29 percent. In Asian markets, China's Shanghai Composite Index dipped 1.62 percent, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index fell 0.41 percent and India's BSE Sensex declined 2.63 percent.
