Taser Gains Again Amid Strong Demand for Products

TASER International, Inc. TASR was 1.5 percent higher in Monday's pre-market session following the announcement that the Ontario Provincial Police purchased 1,000 Taser X2 Smart Weapons. The orders are expected to ship in H1 2015.

Alongside the Ontario Police's order, Taser announced multiple other orders, including 300 X2s to the Phoenix Police Department, 124 X2 weapons to the King County Sheriff's Jail in Washington state, and 2,000 X26Ps to the Policia De Puerto Rico.

Earlier this month, Taser announced that the City of London Police Department purchased 178 AXON body worn video cameras, leading the stock to gain more than 9 percent in one day. The stock also gained Friday following a report that the London Metropolitan Police will purchase 30,000 body cameras.

Year-to-date, the stock gained 7.2 percent as of Friday's $28.40 closing price. The stock recently traded at $29, up 2.1 percent. At these levels, the stock will be 2 percent below its 52-week high of $29.65.
