Unilever plc (ADR) UL reported a surge in its sales for the first quarter.
The company's sales for the quarter climbed 12 percent to EUR12.8 billion ($13.7 billion).
Underlying sales rose 2.8 percent in the quarter, versus a 3.6 percent growth in the year-ago period.
Underlying sales in emerging markets jumped 5.4 percent, compared to a 6.6 percent gain in the year-ago period.
Unilever shares climbed 4.49 percent to $45.35 in pre-market trading.
