Twitter Is Reportedly Testing New Timeline App Ads
Twitter Inc (NYSE: TWTR) mobile users might have noticed something different in the past 24 hours.
Twitter is testing a new kind of ads on a small group of users -- pretty large app ads.
App ads are not new to Twitter users. However, they used to be much smaller, and blended in the general timeline.
But now, the ads are large, and several. Displayed in a “carrousel” mode, users can swipe horizontally to get other app suggestions. One user described the new ads as “aggressive."

Another thing about these larger ads -– as noted by TNW -- is how they are “incredibly similar to ads that Facebook uses in its own service to advertise apps.”
Twitter has yet to comment on these new ads.
The move certainly looks contextualized in the company’s wider campaign to increase the amount of paid content in users' feeds.
