LinkedIn Acquires Careerify Seeking To Ramp Up Its Referrals Products Portfolio

Professional networking company LinkedIn Corp LNKD has acquired Careerify, the latter said Monday morning in a press release. The purchase implies the company will stop offering its internal mobility and employer branding services, focusing on only one: a referral service that helps companies’ human resources departments find new job candidates from its preexisting employees’ contact networks.

According to a re/code article, three of Careerify’s four employees will join LinkedIn’s Mountain View, California, headquarters. A spokesperson contacted about the deal declined to comment on the terms of the acquisition.

Shares of LinkedIn are slightly down on Monday afternoon, as the news of the acquisition got out.
