Samsung aims to Knockout Apple; Record-Breaking Pre-Orders for Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 edge

According to reports, Samsung Electronics Co.'sSSNLF newest smartphones the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge have over 20 million pre-orders, which would be a record for the company. The Flagship S6 has provided 15 million pre-orders by itself, which is likely a result of the expected increased cost for the Samsung Edge, although Samsung hasn't released US pricing information yet. While he did not confirm the actual number of pre-orders, Samsung's mobile chief JK Shin told Korean reporters attending the Mobile World Congress show in Barcelona that "pre-orders of the two Galaxy variants from our major clients are really huge." It is important to note that unlike with Apple products, whose pre-order numbers are purchases from customers themselves, Samsung's numbers are orders placed by companies that will eventually sell the devices to people at wireless retail stores. For their newest models Samsung has gone from plastic to using metal and glass to ensure a higher build quality and compete with Apple's iPhone 6 Smartphone range. The company has said that the initial release date for the phones will be April 10th.
