The Dow climbed 0.31% to 18,152.87, while the NASDAQ composite index rose 0.46% to 4,989.86. The broader Standard & Poor's 500 index gained 0.23% to 2,103.36. The worst performing industries in the market today are: Long Distance Carriers: This industry tumbled 6% by 11:00 am. The worst stock within the industry was General Communication Inc. GNCMA, which fell 7.6%. General Communication reported 2014 consolidated revenue of $910 million, and net income of $8 million or $0.18 per share. Photographic Equipment & Supplies: This industry fell 1.9% by 11:00 am ET. GoPro, Inc. GPRO shares dropped 2% in today's trading. Morgan Stanley maintained an Equal-weight rating and $57 price target on GoPro. Home Health Care: This industry declined 0.8% by 11:00 am with Amedisys Inc. AMED moving down 2.6%. Amedisys reported an adjusted profit of $0.27 per share in the fourth quarter on Wednesday. Wholesale, Other: The industry dropped 0.7% by 11:00 am. The worst performer in this industry was United Stationers Inc. USTR, which declined 0.95%. United Stationers shares have dropped 8.34% over the past 52 weeks, while the S&P 500 index has gained 11.80% in the same period.
