Ford Motor Company Posts Big Miss For February Sales

joined the list of automakers posting disappointing February results Tuesday with a 2 percent decline in monthly vehicle sales. Wall Street had expected Ford sales would grow 5.8 percent and the wide miss drove the company's shares down recently to 16.13, off more than 2 percent. Ford-branded truck sales increased 8 percent to 69,882 units, while car sales declined 8.1 percent to 56,081 units. Ford utility vehicle sales fell 2.4 percent to 54,420 units. Ford-branded vehicle sales declined 1.7 percent to 174,219 units while the company's Lincoln-branded vehicle sales fell 7.5 percent to 6,164 units. Other automakers also posted disappointing U.S. sales Friday.
