US Stock Futures Signal Lower Start On Wall Street

Pre-open movers US stock futures traded lower in early pre-market trade. Data on nonfarm payroll employment for January will be released at 8:30 a.m. ET, while consumer credit data for December will be released at 3:00 p.m. ET. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average tumbled 95 points to 17,687.00, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index futures fell 11.60 points to 2,041.50. Futures for the Nasdaq 100 index slipped 22.25 points to 4,205.25. A Peek Into Global Markets European markets were mostly lower today, with the Spanish Ibex Index dropping 2.04%, STOXX Europe 600 Index declining 0.96% and German DAX 30 index falling 0.54%. French CAC 40 Index declined 0.26% and London's FTSE 100 Index fell 0.18%. In Asian markets, Japan's Nikkei Stock Average rose 0.36%, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index fell 0.64%, China's Shanghai Composite Index climbed 0.62% and India's BSE Sensex tumbled 1.71%. Broker Recommendation Analysts at BMO Capital upgraded Pfizer PFE from Market Perform to Outperform and raised the price target from $33.00 to $36.00.
