Report of Potential $15B Bid for TIM The Rumor:
Shares of TIM Participacoes S.A. (TSU) spiked higher Wednesday, following a Bloomberg report that Oi SA OIBR, Telefonica SA TEF and Claro SA are planning to make an offer that would value TIM at around $15 billion, according to sources. Oi has agreed to sell its Portuguese assets to Altice SA ahead of a potential deal. Spokespersons for the parties declined comment on the report. TIM Participacoes shares closed Wednesday at $23.49, a gain of $1.27. Tyco Acquires Industrial Safety Technologies For $329.5M In Cash The Deal:
Tyco International plc TYC announced Wednesday that it has agreed to acquire maker gas and flame detection gear, Industrial Safety Technologies, from Battery Ventures, for $329.5 million in cash. The transaction is expected to close in Tyco's FY Q2. Tyco closed Wednesday at $42.40, a loss of 2%.
