Airlines Starting To Descend On Higher Oil

Airline stocks, which had been a big beneficiary of lower oil prices, are moving lower Tuesday morning on the back of higher oil.

January WTI oil futures are up nearly 1 percent at 63.65, after making a new contract low earlier in the session at 62.25. Shares of some of the major U.S. airlines, with their pre-market moves, are noted below.

  • American Airlines Group AAL: closed 50.82, down 2.59 percent pre-market at 49.50.
  • Delta Airlines DAL: closed 47.34, down 2.83 percent pre-market at 46.00.
  • United Continental UAL: closed 64.25, down 2.34 percent pre-market at 62.75

Both DAL and UAL were trading at new all-time highs in the shares on Monday.
