US Stock Futures Drop Ahead Of Economic Data

US stock futures traded lower in early pre-market trade. The consumer price index for October and weekly jobless claims will be released at 8:30 a.m. ET. The PMI manufacturing index (flash) for November will be released at 9:45 a.m. ET. The general conditions index of the Philadelphia Fed's Survey for November, existing home sales data for October and the Conference Board's index of leading indicators for October will be released at 10:00 a.m. ET. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 62 points to 17,595.00, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index futures fell 8.30 points to 2,038.90. Futures for the Nasdaq 100 index declined 18 points to 4,205.75.
A Peek Into Global Markets
European markets were lower today, with the Spanish Ibex Index falling 2.03%, STOXX Europe 600 Index falling 0.67%. German DAX 30 index dipped 0.76%, French CAC 40 Index slipped 1.20% and London's FTSE 100 Index dropped 0.66%. The euro-zone composite PMI declined to 51.4 in November, versus 52.1 in October. Italian industrial orders declined 1.5% on the month in September. In Asian markets, Japan's Nikkei Stock Average rose 0.07%, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index fell 0.10%, China's Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.07% and India's Sensex gained 0.12%. The preliminary HSBC China Manufacturing PMI slipped to 50.0 in November, versus a final reading of 50.4 in October.
