RealPage, Inc. RP rejected a $25 a share bid from Vista Equity Partners, according to a report Friday by the Financial Times newspaper.
RealPage gained more than 10 percent recently to $20 per share.
The company, which provides software packages for managing residential rental properties, is down more than 14 percent year to date amid sinking profits and choppy revenue.
U.K.-based Financial Times reported last week that RealPage had been approached by at least two private equity groups in recent weeks, although no negotiations were held.
The newspaper cited unnamed sources in both reports.
