Hewlett Packard to Split into Two Companies -WSJ

Hewlett-Packard HPQ is separating its PC and printer businesses from its corporate hardware business and other units, according to the WSJ. The move could be announced as early as Monday, according to sources. The transaction reportedly would be a tax-free distribution of shares to shareholders next year. Hewlett-Packard closed Friday at $35.20, a gain of 2%.
