Housing Data Shows Slower Price Increases

Two different releases this morning painted a mixed picture on housing, with the Case-Shiller National Home Price Index gaining just 6.2 percent in June 2014, much slower than last month, when the year-over-year price changes for 10-City Composite stood at 7.1 percent nationally. The Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) showed that U.S. house prices rose just 0.8 percent in the second quarter of 2014, also a significant slowdown from the same period last year.
