US Stock Futures Edge Higher Ahead Of Productivity Data

US stock futures traded slightly higher in early pre-market trade. Data on nonfarm business productivity for the second quarter will be released at 8:30 a.m. ET, while wholesale trade data for June will be released at 10:00 a.m. ET. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 7 points to 16,328.00, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index futures rose 2.10 points to 1,907.30. Futures for the Nasdaq 100 index gained 1.25 points to 3,858.00.
A Peek Into Global Markets
European markets were mostly lower today, with the Spanish Ibex Index gaining 0.35%, STOXX Europe 600 Index declining 0.83%. German DAX 30 index fell 0.76%, French CAC 40 Index tumbled 0.26% and London's FTSE 100 Index dropped 0.58%. German imports rose by 4.5% in June versus May, while exports climbed 0.9% in June. French industrial production jumped 1.3% in June versus May. In Asian markets, Japan's Nikkei Stock Average tumbled 2.98%, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index dropped 0.23%, China's Shanghai Composite Index gained 0.31% and India's Sensex fell 1.02%. China's exports surged 14.5% y/y in July, while imports dropped 1.6%.
