US Stock Futures Fall Ahead Of Home Sales Report

US stock futures traded lower in early pre-market trade, ahead of economic data. The Chicago PMI for June will be released at 9:15 a.m. ET, while the pending home sales index for May will be released at 10:00 a.m. ET. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 36 points to 16,721.00, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index futures fell 3.80 points to 1,948.20. Futures for the Nasdaq 100 index declined 3.25 points to 3,828.25.
A Peek Into Global Markets
European markets were mostly lower today, with the Spanish Ibex Index dropping 0.76%, STOXX Europe 600 Index declining 0.21%. German DAX 30 index rose 0.09%, French CAC 40 Index fell 0.35% and London's FTSE 100 Index dropped 0.06%. German retail sales declined 0.6% in May. The annual rate of inflation in the euro zone remained unchanged in June. In Asian markets, Japan's Nikkei Stock Average rose 0.44%, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index fell 0.13%, China's Shanghai Composite Index surged 0.59% and India's BSE Sensex rose 1.25%. Japan's industrial production climbed 0.5% in May.
