For-Profit College Sector Pressured On More Bad News From ITT Education

The education sector is red in mid-day trading Thursday after Corinthian Colleges (NASDAQ: COCO) filed a report Thursday morning with the SEC highlighting a concern over the company's staying power.

In the 8-K filed the company highlighted the shortfall in its cash flow that would require a bridge loan for the company to no longer be a going-concern.

With less than an hour remaining in Thursday's trading, here's the education sector performance for today:

National American University (NASDAQ: NAUH) is up 0.31 percent.

Career Education (NASDAQ: CECO) is down 9.55 percent.

ITT Education Services (NYSE: ESI) is down 5.84 percent.

Strayer Education (NASDAQ: STRA) is down 4.23 percent.

Apollo Education (NASDAQ: APOL) is down 3.67 percent.

Education Management (NASDAQ: EDMC) is down 3.68 percent.

Bridgepoint Education (NYSE: BPI) is down 3.99 percent.

American Public Education (NASDAQ: APEI) is down 3.14 percent.

DeVry Education (NYSE: DV) is down 2.06 percent.

Lincoln Education Services (NASDAQ: LINC) is down 0.24 percent.
