US Stock Futures Edge Higher Ahead Of ADP Report

Pre-open movers US stock futures rose in early pre-market trade, ahead of economic data. The ADP national employment report will be released at 8:15 a.m. ET, while international trade data will be released at 8:30 a.m. ET. Data on new home sales and the ISM non-manufacturing index will be released at 10:00 a.m. ET. The Fed will release its Beige Book at 2:00 p.m. ET. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average surged 10 points to 15,901.00, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index futures rose 0.20 points to 1,791.60. Futures for the Nasdaq 100 index gained 3.50 points to 3,479.25. A Peek Into Global Markets European markets were mixed today, with the Spanish Ibex Index rising 0.23%, London's FTSE 100 index dropping 0.11% and STOXX Europe 600 Index declining 0.18%. German DAX 30 index gained 0.10% and French CAC 40 Index declined 0.11%. Asian markets ended mostly lower today. Japan's Nikkei Stock Average tumbled 2.17%, China's Shanghai Composite gained 1.31%, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index declined 0.76% and India's BSE Sensex dropped 0.7%. Australia's GDP grew 0.6% in the third quarter versus the second quarter. Broker Recommendation Analysts at Goldman Sachs downgraded Citigroup C from “conviction buy” to “neutral.” The target price for Citigroup has been raised from $58 to $60.
