Today at AWS re:Invent, Amazon Web Services, Inc. (AWS), an Amazon.com
company AMZN, announced Amazon Relational Database Service
(Amazon RDS) for PostgreSQL. Amazon RDS manages complex and
time-consuming administrative tasks such as PostgreSQL software
installation and upgrades, storage management, replication for
high-availability and back-ups for disaster recovery. With just a few
clicks in the AWS Management Console, customers can deploy a PostgreSQL
database in minutes with automatically configured database parameters
for optimal performance. Customers can provision a PostgreSQL database
with five gigabytes of storage to start and easily scale up to as much
as three terabytes without incurring any downtime. PostgreSQL is the
