today announced that it has been issued U.S. Patent No. 8,577,118. "Systems and Methods for Mobile Image Capture and Remittance Processing," by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. This is the second patent related to the use of Mitek's mobile imaging technology for the purpose of paying a bill. Mitek now has 17 patents issued and 22 patent applications pending.
