The following are the M&A deals, rumors and chatter circulating on Wall Street for Tuesday November 5, 2013: Chatter of IBM Interest in 3D Systems Sends 3D Printing Stocks Higher The Rumor:
Shares of 3D Systems DDD rose to sharply on Tuesday on chatter that it may be a takeover target. IBM IBM was mentioned as a possible buyer. Shares of other 3D printing (ExOne XONE +7%, Stratasys SSYS +2.5%) stocks rose on the news. A spokesperson for 3D Systems said the company is not in discussions regarding an acquisition of the company's shares. A spokesperson for IBM was not available for comment. 3D Systems closed Tuesday at $70.01, a gain of 6% on 2.5 times average volume. Endo to Acquire Paladin Labs for $1.6B in Mostly Stock Deal The Deal:
Endo Health Solutions ENDP announced Tuesday that it has reached an agreement to acquire Paladin Labs PLDLF for approximately $1.6 billion, including approximately 98% in shares of stock. The deal is expected to close in H1 2014, subject to conditions and approvals, including regulatory approvals in the U.S., Canada and South Africa, the approval of the companies' shareholders, the approval of the Superior Court of Quebec, and the registration and listing of New Endo shares. Endo Health Solutions closed Tuesday at $56.22, a gain of 29%. KKR Reportedly Acquires 5% Stake in Marvell Technology The Rumor:
Shares of Marvell Technology MRVL spiked higher Tuesday morning on chatter that KKR KKR had reportedly taken a 5% stake in Marvell, according to sources. A spokesperson for KKR declined comment on the speculation. A Marvel Technology spokesperson was not available for comment. Marvell Technology closed Tuesday at $13.03 a gain of 8.5%. MACOM to Acquire Mindspeed for $5.05 per Share The Deal:
Mindspeed Technologies MSPD announced Tuesday that it has entered into an agreement to be acquired by M/A-COM Technology Solutions Holdings MTSI for $5.05 per share in a cash tender offer. MACOM will assume certain equity awards held by Mindspeed employees. The transaction is expected to close by the end of 2013. Mindspeed Technologies closed Tuesday at $2.97, but traded near $5.00 after-hours.
