EXCLUSIVE: Jive CEO, "the cloud is here"

In his exclusive interview with Benzinga, Jive CEO Tony Zingale gave insight into his firm's position in the cloud industry, and the industry as a whole. Zingale began by explaining how the industry is adapting from bulk software to personalized, flexible solutions. “Its pretty clear that the enterprises are replatforming around the world. They are moving away from the dusty single stock implications, from the large enterprise software companies around the world, including companies like Microsoft and IBM.” Picking up on a prevalent trend in the technology industry, Zingale raised the importance of mobile devices versus traditional computing. “Its not just cloud computing, but mobility and smart devices and tablets. Its social software.” As reported by the Mac Observer, tablet sales are expected to surpass those of laptops this year, and tablet sales will topple all PC shipments by 2015. Over 229 million tablets are expected to be sold in 2013, up from 144.5 million in 2012. A transition of this nature means technology firms will have to adapt to survive. Zingale then explained the cloud's defined advantages. “Its a more productive delivery vehicle, it is a less expensive delivery vehicle, and certainly it affords enterprises around the world the ability to access innovation in a much more rapid pace than they've previously experienced.” “So, Jive is one of the premier cloud delivery companies. We also offer our software in the private cloud for regulated industries like financial services and health care provides. So we are unique that we embrace the cloud in a public fashion as well as a private fashion.” Jive's use of the cloud can be accredited for the company's consistently growing revenue. Jive Software has also been a leader in acquisitions, consistently adding companies that increase its cloud abilities. Tony Zingale concluded: “But the could is not just the way of the future, the cloud is here and companies globally are embracing it as part of their replatforming strategy.”
