SLIDESHOW: 31% of Consumers Will Wait in Line for PlayStation 4, iPhone 5S

Earlier this month, Benzinga conducted a survey about the length of time that consumers are willing to wait in line for new tech products. Apple AAPL, Microsoft MSFT, Sony SNE and other tech giants have successfully persuaded consumers to ditch work or school and give up a night of sleep to acquire the latest gadgets. Thirty-one percent of consumers surveyed said that they will wait in line for a PlayStation 4, Sony's forthcoming game console, and/or Apple's next-generation smartphone. Nearly 19 percent of respondents said that they will wait in line for Microsoft's next game console, Xbox One. Roughly six percent will wait for the iPad Mini 2, Google X Phone, Galaxy Note III and/or the next-generation Surface. Approximately 45 percent of consumers do not plan to wait for any of the tech products that are due for release this year. And that's just the beginning. Benzinga readers provided a cornucopia of eye-opening responses that paint an interesting picture for the months ahead. Louis Bedigian is the Senior Tech Analyst and Features Writer of Benzinga.
