US Stock Futures Signal Higher Start On Wall Street

US stock futures are higher this morning. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average surged 61 points to 15,199.00 and S&P 500 index futures rose 6.90 points to 1,634.00. Nasdaq 100 futures gained 10.50 points to 2,974.00. US stocks closed lower on Tuesday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropping 0.76% to 15,122.02, the S&P 500 index falling 1.02% to 1,626.13 and the Nasdaq 100 index declining 1.06% to 3,436.95. The MBA purchase applications index will be released at 7.00 a.m. ET, while the EIA weekly report on petroleum inventories will be released at 10:30 a.m. ET. The U.S. Treasury monthly budget report for May will be released at 2:00 p.m. ET. Ulta Salon, Cosmetics & Fragrance ULTA reported upbeat first-quarter earnings. However, the company issued weak forecast for the second quarter. Prudential Financial PRU announced a $1 billion stock repurchase program. Agilysys AGYS is expected to report its Q4 earnings at $0.06 per share. The Men's Wearhouse MW is estimated to post its Q1 earnings at $0.55 per share on revenue of $604.74 million. Culp CFI is projected to post its Q4 earnings at $0.34 per share on revenue of $71.50 million. PVH PVH is estimated to post its Q1 earnings at $1.35 per share on revenue of $1.91 billion. H&R Block HRB is estimated to post its Q4 earnings at $2.61 per share on revenue of $2.28 billion. European markets were mixed today. The STOXX Europe 600 Index gained 0.34%, London's FTSE 100 index dropped 0.02%, French CAC 40 Index rose 0.27% and German DAX 30 index fell 0.06%. Asian markets ended lower, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average falling 0.21% and Australia's ASX/S&P500 dropping 0.69%. India's Sensex tumbled 0.54%.
