jcpenney JCP announced today that it is joining
forces with INROADS, the nation's largest non-profit source of undergraduate
internships for diverse youth, to bolster its emerging talent leadership
program. Through the partnership, INROADS interns will be immersed over two
10-week phases in all aspects of leading a jcpenney store, with the potential
of being hired after graduation.
"This is the first year jcpenney is partnering with INROADS to promote
leadership diversity and we couldn't be more thrilled," said Kelley Johnson,
jcpenney DVP of Diversity and Emerging Talent. "Our emerging talent program
offers students personal and professional development opportunities while
providing meaningful real-world experience to help shape future leaders at
jcpenney and across the country."
The leadership intern program at jcpenney employs nearly 200 college students
nationwide each summer, blending online instruction with hands-on experience.
This year, more than 50 INROADS interns will bring their talent to the
program, receiving on-going coaching, support and a unique skills development
plan.
