Asian markets ended mostly lower, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average rising 1.22%, China's Shanghai Composite falling 0.05% and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 gaining 1%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng fell 0.47% and India's Sensex declined 0.07%.
