A Peek Into The Market Before The Trading Starts

US stock futures are higher this morning, as investors are awaiting economic data. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average surged 17 points to 14,376.00 and S&P 500 index futures rose 0.90 points to 1,541.60. Nasdaq 100 futures gained 2 points to 2,773.50.

European markets were mostly lower today. The STOXX Europe 600 Index fell 0.18%, London's FTSE 100 Index gained 0.09%, French CAC 40 Index declined 0.10% and German DAX 30 index fell 0.08%. Asian markets ended mostly lower, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average dipping 2.35%, China's Shanghai Composite gaining 0.17% and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 rising 0.08%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index fell 0.50% and India's Sensex tumbled 0.30%.

Analysts at Deutsche Bank downgraded Kohl's

from “hold” to “sell.” The target price for Kohl's has been lowered from $42 to $41. Kohl's shares dropped 0.71% to close at $46.43 yesterday.
