HP HPQ -- HP
Enterprise Services today announced it has been awarded two task
orders by the U.S. Army Human Resources Command (AHRC) to support and
enhance the technology infrastructure and applications used
throughout the recruiting process.
The contracts, sold under the U.S. Army Information Technology
Enterprise Solutions -- 2 Services agreement, include 30-percent
small-business participation.
The first contract, a three-year order for HP to continue managing
the AHRC technology infrastructure, adds the same support for the
U.S. Army Cadet Command and Army Recruiting Command.
HP has provided Data Center Services to AHRC for more than 20 years and will continue delivering a full suite of services. These services
include Workplace Services; help desk and field support for the PCs,
laptops and printers used by AHRC staff; Networking Services; and
enterprise architecture planning from HP Transformation Consulting
Services.
The second contract is a one-year task order to modernize and
maintain applications that enable the U.S. Army to easily find and
screen prospective recruits with HP Applications Services. HP also
will develop a new capability for recruits to complete applications
and required federal forms online. These applications run on the AHRC
technology infrastructure, and help manage recruitment and hiring
workflow.
Under the previous agreement, HP helped AHRC consolidate two data
centers -- including help desks, systems and applications -- into one
new facility in Fort Knox, Ky. As a result, AHRC operations became
more efficient and cost effective, creating an environment in which employees can easily access data to facilitate daily decisions.
Also under the last agreement, HP developed and implemented a number
of innovative web-based applications for AHRC, including its
Integrated Knowledge Resource Online for Me portal. This portal
allows users to create personalized home pages; access "Candidates
Around Me," a mobile application that maps where prospective recruits
are located; and utilize the "Electronic Military Personnel Office,"
which is used for day-to-day human resources support.
