US Stock Futures Signal Lower Start On Wall Street

US stock futures are lower this morning. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 83 points to 14,355.00 and S&P 500 index futures fell 13.30 points to 1,540.30. Nasdaq 100 futures declined 28 points to 2,762.50. US stocks closed lower on Friday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropping 0.17% to 14,514.11, the S&P 500 index falling 0.16% to 1,560.70 and the Nasdaq 100 index declining 0.30% to 3,249.07. The NAHB housing market index for March will be released at 10:00 a.m. ET. West Marine WMAR reported that its board has authorized a new share repurchase program. Ameresco AMRC is expected to report its Q4 earnings at $0.14 per share on revenue of $162.13 million. Cumulus Media CMLS is expected to report its Q4 earnings at $0.06 per share on revenue of $287.10 million. Hastings Entertainment HAST is estimated to report its Q4 earnings at $0.26 per share on revenue of $142.30 million. Houston Wire & Cable Company HWCC is expected to report its Q4 earnings at $0.21 per share on revenue of $92.62 million. European markets were lower today. The STOXX Europe 600 Index fell 0.55%, London's FTSE 100 Index dropped 0.76%, French CAC 40 Index fell 0.98% and German DAX 30 index declined 0.87%. Asian markets ended lower, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average falling 2.71%, China's Shanghai Composite dropping 1.68% and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 tumbling 1.99%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index dropped 2% and India's Sensex tumbled 0.57%. Gold for April delivery gained 0.68% to trade at $1,603.40 an ounce, while crude-oil futures tumbled 1.10% to $92.42 a barrel.
