Verizon Communications (NYSE: VZ) dipped 2.21% to $41.60 in the pre-market session. Verizon posted a wider fourth-quarter loss.

Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) shares fell 2.09% to $10.34 in the pre-market trading. Ericsson announced its plans to acquire Devoteam Telecom & Media operations in France.

Caterpillar (NYSE: CAT) dipped 1.56% to $96.10 in the pre-market session. Caterpillar will take a charge of $0.87 per share in the fourth quarter tied to the accounting misconduct at a recently acquired company in China.
